S-POSTURE (LUMBAR HYPERLORDOSIS)

The following limitations are usually at the origin of this swing characteristic.

Often, S-Posture is caused and/or fed by an unhealthy posture. An unfavourable posture is a fertile ground for musculoskeletal conditions such as Lower Crossed Syndrome, which is a well known cause of S-Posture.

Some of the factors causing or feeding S-Posture are poor posture, sedentary lifestyle, prolonged or repetitive activities causing or feeding dysfunctional movement patterns, reduced hip mobility, core and/or gluts weakness. Other possible causes for S-Posture are Bilateral Hip Extension and Thorax Spine Extension/Rotation Mobility Dysfunction, Lumbar Spine Flexion Mobility Dysfunction, Thorax Extension and Lumbar Spine Flexion Stability and Motor Control Dysfunction.

Positive Tests: “Pelvic Tilt”, “Bridge w/ Leg Extension”, FABER and Modified Thomas Test, Lumbar Locked Extension/Rotation, Prone Rocking, Flexion and Extension Rolling Patterns (excessive lumbar extension to compensate for a reduced thorax extension and excessive hip flexion to compensate for a reduced lumbar flexion).

MAY WE HELP YOU?

Free your swing!

Postureffect programs are designed to help increase your mobility, stability and balance by decreasing fascial and musculoskeletal restrictions, dysfunctional patterns of movement (ex. scapulothoracic rhythm), adhesions and musculoskeletal imbalance (ex. upper and lower crossed syndrome).

In order to offer you a more complete, functional and wholistic treatment plan, we partner with
like-minded Medical Practitioners, Golf Professionals and Physical Trainers that are able to focus on the aspects that need to be addressed but we don't specialise in.
